Η Στρατηγική Ανάπτυξης της PPC με Επενδύσεις στον Τομέα Ανανεώσιμης Ενέργειας και Νέα Συμφωνία
George Stassis, CEO of PPC since 2019, has driven a series of significant acquisitions and initiatives aimed at transforming the company into a robust integrated “green” electricity provider. Among the most notable developments is the recent agreement for the acquisition of 66 MW in operation and 1.7 GW under development of renewable energy projects in Greece, involving the Copelouzos and Samaras Groups. This marks the sixth consecutive acquisition made by PPC since the start of 2024.
Another major move by Stassis was in August when he announced the acquisition of a 774 MW renewable energy portfolio in Romania from Macquarie for 700 million euros. In April, PPC partnered with Metlen to develop an extensive portfolio of 90 photovoltaic projects, totaling 2,000 MW across four Southeast European countries, with an estimated value of around 2 billion euros.
Additionally, in April, Stassis completed the acquisition of Kotsovolos from Currys, enabling PPC to enter the retail market and leverage the logistical advantages of the store chain’s infrastructure. Just a month prior, in March, he finalized the transfer of 100% of Land Power from Lukoil, which included an 84 MW wind farm located in Romania.
Furthermore, a significant collaboration with Intrakat was announced, aimed at jointly developing a “green” portfolio that could reach up to 2.7 GW, with an investment potential exceeding 1 billion euros.
While PPC shares have recently approached a 10-year high of 12.5 euros, indicating a market capitalization of over 4.6 billion euros, the most critical aspect of these developments lies in Stassis’s vision for a sustainable future for the company, further reinforced by the cancellation of 12.7 million own shares, contributing to 3.33% of the share capital, which he described as a “gift.”
